Pregnant vegan here! I can't tell you how many times I've been asked how I'm getting enough protein for baby. Meat is not the only form of protein people. Lol

I'm a flexitarian. I do not like the smell or texture of raw meat. I do like tuna, fried fish, dairy products, pulled pork... many different little things like that and my doctor said that was one of the healthier diets to be on because I get protein and from good sources but not overdoing it becuadr I still prefer fruits and veggies. Nutritionist and dietician agreed with my OB as well.

Only WHILE im pregnant. Every time I get pregnant I hate red meat and eventually can only eat fish for meats lol

I was a vegetarian until I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 28 weeks. I found out that legumes raised my blood sugar to the point that I would not get enough protein and iron, or enough food in general, if I limited my portion size enough to avoid a glucose spike. I felt incredibly guilty, but I had to start eating meat occasionally just so I could feel full. I've made sure to buy ethically raised meat, which is WAY more expensive than lentils! My plan is to go back to vegetarianism after delivery, once my pancreas remembers how to do its dang job again :/
