Birth control side effects?

Recently when me and my boyfriend were doing foreplay when he would touch my nipples or suck on them it would really hurt. Ive been on birth control for three weeks and my period is supposed to start soon. Do my nipples just hurt because of my hormones? This has never happened before my period.
