Pictures during birth?

I'm wondering what you ladies are doing in regards to pictures during birth. I'm not wanting any photos during labor, but I would love some photos of me holding the baby for the first time, my husband holding her, getting weighed, etc. My friend Catie offered to do it, but I don't want anyone in the room during the actual birth. Can you ask nurses to take pics or is it up to my husband to take the first couple photos?

Do they allow like a family member or friend to come in right after the baby is born to snap a few shots or is that impossible. (I've never given birth so I don't know what all the timing is) but I was thinking if they give you the hour mom/daddy time and then weigh her and stuff could people start coming in during that hour like your friend who is willing to do pictures and take some during those first moments and then the rest or is that not possible?

You'll have to call your hospital and ask their policy. Nurses/midwives/doctors will be busy tending to you and baby, so they most likely will not. My husband took pictures after our son was born. Pictures and video are not allowed at our hospital during delivery. But he got some good pictures of them weighing and cleaning our son and my holding him. We had plenty of pictures too, after we moved to recovery. :-)

My photographer, who we have gotten to know very very well over the past 2 years through 5 photoshoots, will be in the delivery room taking photos. None below the belt but just moments between me and my husband during labor and then us at the moment we meet our sweet little girl and as the family comes in to meet her and so on

Depends on where you deliver. I'm hiring a photographer to be there during my labour and delivery to capture everything. I don't want to miss a thing :)

My husband did all the first, the nurses let him follow them around and watch everything they done. When he held her for the first time I took the pic.

I'm not sure if nurses will take photos, with my daughter I had my SO in the room, our mothers and grandmothers (5 people total not including me and the dr & nurses) they actually were able to get a ton of awesome pictures. I set rules out. Like no pictures to be posted online, and no pics during labor only once the baby was out, oh and no pics of anything other than my daughter. I know some hospitals have a photographer they use for labor pics and stuff that you can hire. But I don't think they allow the nurses to take pictures, for privacy reasons.

If all goes well, there would be a nurse in there to take a few pics of you all together. But I would count on your husband taking the first pictures. Baby's first pic and pics with you. It can get pretty hectic in there right after bc they will have to weigh/ measure baby and you will still have to deliver the placenta!
