Hopeful question

Okay, so AF is due today. All I've had today is a light brown spotting that has barely gotten on my panty liner. I had rusty brown spotting a few days ago for like a day and a half. I took a test this morning but it was a BFN! Has anyone else had this happen, and still got their BFP? Thanks
