IUD Removal

So I've had my Mirena IUD in for 5 years already. I went to get it removed since my time is up. The doctor couldn't find the strings so now I have to go to a hospital and get an ultrasound done to see if it's still there. I'm freaking out. I hope it's just right above from where they couldn't reach. I hate this shit, I'm never getting an IUD again. The last thing I want is someone digging in there. I hope it's an easy removal otherwise the doctor says I have to go under! Has anyone else experienced this? Please pray for me! I hope it won't be such a complicated removal process.
