Biopsy pain?

Going in for a biopsy next week. Said my Pap smear came back abnormal. Anyone want to share their experience so I have an idea of what to expect? Pain? How long did it take? How long until you got the results? What were the results?

I'm pretty sure she's talking about the one where they take samples of your cervix. I had to have one at the beginning of the year and it really wasn't nothing. I didn't feel a thing when they took a sample besides for a slight pinch, which wasn't painful. It's quick, easy, and you're out in a snap. Usually takes 15-20 minutes. The doctor should talk you though all the steps while they're doing it and the things to expect, but just cause they are to be expected doesn't mean it's going to happen. I think the worst part for me was the medicine coming out.

It hurts but just for awhile, but take Advil an 1 hrs before you go!  It feels like a period cramp.

I just had one two days ago and I didn't feel a thing...cramped a little afterwards but now waiting in my results ..

You're probably referring to a Colposcopy. They will take a biopsy of your cervix to get it tested.

I had this done back in January, and I will be honest with you, it hurt like hell and you will bleed after. It feels like sever cramps.
They will provide you a pad and give you info on how long the pain will last. Mine didn't last for more than 30 minutes or so. 
I drove myself which really sucked so I recommend if you can get someone to drive for you, do that. For me I was just uncomfortable & would have preferred it. 
My results came back fine within about two weeks.

It depends who is doing it I have jade 3 by two different doctors my first one was really painful bc the doctor was rough and didn't use the "numb" spray it felt like a hole punch punching me the second one was nothing the third hurt bc they did the curretage(scrape inside of cervix) with it which they only do based on what they see at the time of biopsy

Oh no. Biopsy... Uhm I don't know if its the same with all kinds of biopsys but you may want to talk further with your doctor. Do they think is cancerous????

I had one done earlier this year because of an abnormal pap smear and with mine I didn't have any pain just a little discomfort during and after. It didn't take long for my results to be done, I believe she called me later that day or the next day. Don't worry it isn't that bad and Good Luck.

It really isnt to bad. Its a quick pain and you may experience a little cramping. I would say like someone pinching you enough to make your skin red but not bruise. I was 19 when i got mine and they found that i had pre cancerous cells. And then i had a LAP procedure to get it removed again the surgery took 3 mins they numbed me. And then used what the doctor explained as an electric cheese slicer lol. And ive been clear since. Hope all is well from the biopsy!
