NuvaRing And Sex

Me and my new partner just recently started having sex and I've gotten back on the NuvaRing after I had my baby. Now every time we have sex i start to spot is it because he's to big and might be causing to much friction with the ring? This has never happened before I had my child. Our sex life is getting ruined by this because it freaks him out.
