Keep his feelings into consideration and think about how you'd feel if he went out to a party without you. It's natural for him to want to be by your side and protect you while you are surrounded by people drinking and partying. If my boyfriend let me go out to parties alone without saying he's gonna be a bit worried and upset, I'd get upset. I like when he shows he cares.

Yes that's a bit controlling. However I believe that when you're in a relationship you shouldn't do things that you would want them to do. It's about respect. Why doesn't he want you to go to parties? Has something happened before that he doesn't trust you going?
