Implant??

I've recently started having sex with my boyfriend and I want to get some kind of birth control for myself. The implant looks like the one that would be best for me, but everyone's responses seem very 50/50, like it's either terrible or amazing. I don't know whether it's worth it because I don't deal well with the kind of side effects some ladies have been describing. What should I do?
