How many embryos to transfer?

How did you decide? We have 3 good, normal embryos after genetic testing which have a much higher chance of sticking.  Originally we planned to put in 2 but the more I think of the reality of twins, the more scary it seems.  My hubby wants twins but as the one home with them everyday I don't want to make life harder than it has to be.  Opinions/thoughts would be appreciated :) xo

I would think that two would increase your chances of one sticking. But I also want twins. I would probably try one and freeze the other 2. If it didn't work the first time than i would us the other 2 the next cycle

My clinic will only transfer one unless you sign an 'against medical advice' form. They have us a huge booklet on the risks of twins. When they spoke to us they said they would only recommend transferring two if we had multiple failed transfers with one embryo. 
It's definitely personal choice, but do your research and make a choice you are happy with.

First time FET we transferred 2 PGS normal and didn't stick. Second time FET we also transferred 2 PGS normal and I'm pregnant with twins. Good luck on your decision!

We were going to transfer two, but on transfer day we ended up transferring 3. We did this because we had one grade 1 and two grade 2's on day 3 and our clinic doesn't freeze day 3 grade 2.. So it was transfer and risk triplets (1-2%) or dispose or one of the embryos..

You are lucky to have more than two good ones! Start with one. You could still end up with twins with one embryo and I heard 1 has better chance of success actually.

Alycia, is your clinic giving you the choice since you had pgs? Just curious since I'll be doing the same in December and with my conservative dr, I think he'll only transfer one. We really want twins as this will be our only attempt at this (I'm 38). 😖

We only transfered one and it stuck (we froze the remaining 5).  My doc was against transferring multiples and I saw no reason to fight it as I didn't want a high risk pregnancy (ie twins) either. 1 baby at a time is really the best thing for baby and after going through IVF that's all I wanted.

We decided on 2 and are now having twins but that's what we wanted and prayed for! I think it's a very personal decision and also on your past medical history. We have 2 beautiful boys that I carried full term so a twin pregnancy is not as risky for me as my uterus had already been stretched out. Because of this he had no issue transferring 2. If I would of been a first time mommy he would if suggested 1. Also, for us we had to pay for everything ourselves so it was a one shot thing. We also had 3 day 5 good quality embryos. A lot of girls in my Ivf groups have had several chemicals or problems with implantation and transferred 2 or 3 at a time because of that. Power in numbers I guess.
