My mom judges my boyfriend to me and tries to pass like she isn't by saying "nothing against him" or something along those lines.

She's judges him because he's 24 and doesn't have a full time job and hasn't graduated college yet. (He is enrolled in school and works part time)

Should I take what my mom says with a grain of salt? I know she's looking out for me but it hurts when she says these judgemental things about him. She likes him and says he's a nice guy, but shames him for not having it all together at his age.

Am I naive in saying that it's not that easy to get a great paying job and move out in this day and age? I just hate hearing her speak negatively about the person I love.
