Birth control for acne

I've come to the conclusion that my acne is hormonal, due to the fact that it is mainly on my chin (a spot known for hormonal acne) and it gets bad before my period. Has anybody taken birth control to help with hormonal acne, which kind was it, and what results did you see? Thanks:)
