Ovulation and periods

If my period went longer than it normally does, would that change the date of when I ovulate??

My period was extremely long, it came a lot earlier and went for 2 and a half weeks. It stopped on the 8th day and I had sex, it came back the next day.

Did I ovulate during my period or did I ovulate when it had finished? Was it still a period even if it went for so long with the one day break in between?

Please help - any comments with answers or suggestions of what it may be would help tremendously
