Stage 1 food recommendations?

My daughter turned 4 months old on Friday and she had her 4 month shots & well baby check up today. Her pediatrician didn't really have an opinion on what specific food to start her on other then purées and cereal. What purées did you start your babies on? I'm a ftm & I don't know what's popular or a well liked first food among babies. What was your experience? Any advice is welcomed. Thanks ladies

Start on one thing at a time, no mixed combination in case of an allergy and also wait 3 days in between. For example: start with green beans for 3 days, then do sweet potatoes for 3 days, etc. That way if there is an allergy you can pinpoint exactly what it is.

Skip rice cereal- it has no nutritional value. But we started with sweet potatoes, applesauce (unsweetened) avocado, banana

Our daughter loved sweet potatoes! My only recommendation would be to start with veggies and avoid a sweet tooth.

We used Earth's best 4oz glass jarred food. It's organic, non-gmo, and they have great varieties for your little one's forever changing tastes!

Babies R Us/Toys R Us usually has the best price on them (and I never shop there because I think their prices are outragous!) If you buy them in the 12 count packs, you can usually get them for about $0.70 each which is much cheaper than the pouches that are anywhere from $1.30 - $1.70 each. It doesn't sound like much, but it adds up QUICK!! Hope this helps! Blessings!

I started my son in peas! He loved them. My pediatrician said to try veggies before fruits and not a mixture yet; just one type of food per serving.

Start with a few veggies and do the same one 3 days in a row to watch for allergic reactions. If you start with fruits it can be harder to get baby to eat veggies.
