Rhogam frequency?

I miscarried a little over a week ago and while I was in the ER, I was given a Rhogam shot (I'm A- blood type). They explained very briefly what the shot was for, but I didn't think to ask if I would need it again for future pregnancies (and if so, when/how often).

So once my cycles regulate and we try again, do I need to get another one, or...? How does that work, exactly?

It depends. They will give it to you if you start spotting in pregnancy, then again at 28 weeks, and then once more when you give birth. I'm also A- blood type. I got the rhogam shot at 11 weeks when I had started spotting.

I had one when I miscarried. They told
Me that with subsequent pregnancies I would need one at 20 weeks and again following delivery. From what I was told
It's to protect future pregnancies.

- I got two with my girls (separate pregnancies) one during the pregnancy & 1 after baby was born. Then they only gave me one with my MC. 
- They give it to you when your blood is Rh- incase the baby is Rh+.
