5 weeks pregnant! Or am I?

Hello lovely ladies!  
I was just wondering when your working out how far gone you are do you go from the last period or when you supposedly ovulated?? I'm so confused!  My clear blue said 2-3 weeks in Saturday but on the leaflet it said the drs will work it out from a 28 day cycle which it would be 5 weeks tomorrow?!

They count it based off the first day of your last period

Human pregnancy is 40wks going by the first day of your last period. Yes this is usually a couple of weeks before you actually conceived but could be longer or shorter. There is generally no way to actually pinpoint the date of conception unless you had IVF.  That is why a pregnancy is considered term at 37-41wks. If your period was 5 weeks ago then you are considered 5wks pregnant

I was told that just means the doctors are adding the two weeks before you actually conceived starting with the first day of your last menstrual cycle. I think the tests start their prediction with fertilization. I could be wrong tho..

Doctors usually count from the first day of your last period until you get a growth analysis ultrasound. At that point they may adjust based on size of the baby.
