3D ultra sound???

Question

How do these work? Do all obgyns offer them? Do they start doing them at a certain time? So far I've only had regular ones...I'm only 8weeks4days and this is my first pregnancy so I'm clueless!

They say get it done between 28-32 weeks when they baby has filled out more. My OBGYN didn't offer it, but I found a place near me that did it for a discount on Mondays. So we paid $60. Totally worth it! We saw that she has my nose (poor thing) and hair!!

I wasn't given one for free from my dr either but a place near my house does them for a cost it was a bit steep but I felt it was worth it ! I loved seeing my little girls sweet face early😍

My first one I got a free one because my technition had a 3D button :) but this time in a new state I had to pay and wasted 100$ cause he was hiding (at 33weeks) going back next week to see if he will show me his face

I had to pay for mine.... But its worth it... I wanted my husbands older daughter to be there for it and feel included as she was not allowed in diagnostic normal ultrasounds. I also feel it helped the father feel a bond and feel the reality of it all. Its easier for us girls to feel how real the pregnancy is by feeling the baby grow, but for the father it is often harder for them to realize..... This helped him feel included i think :)

I won't be doing the 3D ultrasound. Personally I'm concerned with as much radiation as it puts around the baby numerous amounts of times. Plus I had a girlfriend that's baby actually got burned by the ultrasound wand.
