Tampons for discharge?

Is it safe to use tampons on days where I have heavy discharge? Or can they only be used for blood.

Probably not a good idea. You're only raising your risk of TSS by using tampons when they really shouldn't be used. Try panty liners and just change them as often as you need to.

NEVER use a tampon when you're not on your period. If you have too much discharge for your comfort level, just use a thin pantyliner. Tampons are not meant to be used when you're not on your period.

Don't ever use tampons for anything other than your period! They are meant for your period only. For discharge, buy a pack of pantyliners, they are basically tiny and thin pads.

Ive never used them for discharge but I have used them when my fiance and I have gotten a quickly in before work and he came in me, so that I don't leak through my pants. I will say that if you do use them for anything like that to make sure it's not still dry when removing it, it's quite painful. I recommend sitting in a bathtub of water or even just taking a shower if it is dry/hard to pull out, that way it gets a little more wet and won't hurt when you take it out

I think you'll be fine as long as you're wet enough down there so that the cotton doesn't get stuck but I usually just use pantyliners for stuff like that and it takes care of it
