How long did you have to wait to show up in the urine test?

My mom had this with two or her four kids. It just happened to be the baby girls. The doctors put her on birth control because she had no period but she was actually pregnant. I think she said she could get a positive test at 12 weeks. I hope I don't have the same thing when I get pregnant.

I have a friend who didn't get a positive test at all. Blood test negative, urine tests were negative...one night (I was living with her at the time) she came home and was complaining that her period was super heavy (like going through tampons in less than an hour) so I told her to go to the hospital cause that is very abnormal. She called me at 3am from the hospital and said they found out she was pregnant via ultrasound and turned out she was 10 weeks along.

One of my friends didn't get a positive pregnancy test until 5 months. The only reason she knew was because of a blood test that she had done at 3 months.
