IUD users: Were you put under some form of anesthesia to insert your IUD?

Tess
I've been having complications because of my tipped cervix. Mine is curved or however you'd like to say it and I'm clamped super tight. My doctor had tried inserting the ParaGard, with what we thought was success, but it turns out she didn't get it in there all the way. I had an ultrasound to check things out, tried a different, more experienced doctor to see if she could get it to go in. Now, they are saying I would probably have to go under. I would love to hear personal stories. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it. I really would like to stay away from hormones. Thank you all so much!
