I dated a co-worker ONCE and I quit my job over it. It was a bad breakup and we worked close together and it became WAY too much. However, my Grandma is my grandpas boss and they never fight and are still going strong.

1. Realistically, think about it ending. Do you work closely enough that it would cause unnecessary drama and workplace hostility? Then don't do it. There's a ton of people out there.

2. Is there a policy against it? Then don't do it. Someone always finds out.

3. Is it a co-worker, as in a peer, or supervisor/subordinate relationship? If the latter, don't do it. That can lead to jealousy and perceived favoritism. Work is for work, not for your personal dating game.

4. Can it work out? Absolutely, when both parties are mature enough. Does it work out often? In my experience, from what I've seen, no.

My husband and I worked at the same place while dating. We were dating before he started working there though. The only issue it caused, was his best friend was a co manager there and was salty that we were dating because I guess he had liked me before my husband and I started dating.
Well the co manager stopped scheduling me to work and when I did work he made it so that my husband and I had opposite shifts so we didn't see each other. Since he was only co manager we told the actual manager and she set his shit straight. After that my husband and I always worked together until we both changed jobs.

Talking from personal experience, My current boyfriend and I started off as coworkers now, 1 year & 3 months still going strong. Just be prepared to be work's new gossip for awhile
