Is 8 hours to long to keep a tampon in?

I was really tired and fell asleep with a tampon in and it was from 10:00 to 6:00am which is 8 hours. And I'm really worried of getting TSS. Did I keep the tampon in for too long?

I normally sleep in tampons, don't worry you'll be fine! I think your most at risk if it's say 12 hours +! You should be fine 😊

I used to keep mine in for longer sometimes ans never got tss. Tss is so rare. You're fine don't worry

The likely hood of you getting TSS is quite low. They recommend no longer than 8 hours but it was only once and I'm sure you will be ok ☺️

I know they say change every four to eight hours, but overnight they just advise change just before you sleep and as soon as you get up. I regularly use tampons for 12-14 hours overnight and have never had a problem

You're fine! TSS is an infection, it takes time it's not like if you leave it in for 7 hours and 59 minutes your fine but then at 8 hours it's like BOOM TSS.
