Is this normal to feel this way at first?

So I just found out the sex of my baby and..... IT'S A BOY!! I was really hoping for a girl and when they said boy I felt a little upset for a second and then I felt better once I started going shopping and stuff for him. I just feel bad that I wasn't as excited at first. Is that normal?

I'm having my third boy. When I found out this one was a boy I cried for a week straight and was bummed out for a while. This is my last baby and I was so hoping for a girl to have that little best friend. Even though I'm still sad it's not a girl I hear stories from friends about their teenage daughters and I realize why I was given boys. Lol. I'm thrilled now to have another little mom as boy.

I felt the same way. I was like "man I don't know how I'm going to raise a boy! I'm so not into cars or trucks or Legos lol" but now I'm excited. And I can't wait.

Yes i felt like that with my second child, i already had a boy and when i got pregnant again i was hoping for a girl, at the ultrasound they told me it looked like a girl so i got excited but thank god i hadn't bought any girl things. Then when i was 30 weeks i had another ultrasound done and they told me i was having a boy my face changed completly i was pissed i didnt cry there but when i got out i cried. But i love my son to death hes such a sweet heart he's about to be 6 years old and now im 31 weeks and 4 days pregnant with the lilttle girl i always wanted. 😊😊😊😊

Totally normal I wanted another girl but I was told it was a boy, we were so sad my daughter wanted a sister my man wanted a daughter and I just wanted another princess, it took me until after my BABYSHOWER which was two weeks ago to get over it, so now I'm 35 weeks and I'm excited to meet my prince

My husband wanted a boy sooo bad. And when we found out she was a girl I think he was a little disappointed. He wanted to teach a son how to ride horses. And get him into rodeo. Ten minutes later he was excited because he still gets to teach her how to ride. And he can still get her into rodeo. And now he has an even better excuse to buy a big truck and trailer for his barrel racer...

It's fine to be a little sad. You'll love your kid no matter what.

Totally normal. My sister went through the same thing and within days of finding out she felt better and as soon as she found a cute outfit she got excited to have a little boy (she already has a 4 year old daughter) my best friend took a couple of weeks to get used to the idea of having a boy too and now she can't wait to meet him.
