GYN visit- 13 days late! Advice please!

So I am currently 13 days late and had a visit with my OB/GYN. Upon my pelvic exam he said that everything feels normal (no cysts) and I had a negative urine pregnancy test. He ordered a Progesterone blood test and will call me tomorrow for the results. He said if my progesterone is low that means I didn't ovulate this month and he will give me medication to start my period. If it's within range that means I did ovulate and I  will either start in the next 2 weeks or not have one for 9 months (aka pregnant!). I currently have cramping and lower back pain. No sore breasts (but I never do for my period). Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before?!
