I was looking for advice on helping a friend of mine who is also pregnant and just found out her baby has trisomy 18 aka Edwards syndrome. Is anyone familiar with this diagnosis? The bottom line is that her baby girl likely won't survive long after birth and they don't plan on terminating the pregnancy, she's 18 weeks. I've read a lot about it but am not sure how I should proceed. I'm trying to be loving and considerate, keeping in mind she might want her space. I've read that some mothers who have this diagnosis don't even want to see pregnant women and at least three of our mutual friends including myself are pregnant. Any thoughts?
