we didn't use either.. no swing, no bouncer, no exersaucer, no bumbo, no play pen.. we just wore our son or held him, and as he got bigger, we let him learn to use his body and strengthen his muscles by playing on the bed/floor. he hated being confined in anything- car seat, swaddling, etc.. he wanted to be able to move freely. just wanted to say that not all babies like baby contraptions. :))

Both I would get one that does both. I had a separate bouncer and swing and it was just too much stuff so I ended getting rid of them and getting one that does it all bounce, swing, vibrate, mobile etc they are a little more expensive but it definitely worth having one that does it all
