After period!

Hey, so I just got off my period and there's still like brown discharge (old blood) in me.. And some coming out. Well my boyfriend and I want to have sex but I'm afraid when he fingers me and/or when we have sex the old blood will be there on his hand or (ya know lol)

But ANYWAY, my question : can I like take a shower and like "scrub" the stuff off with my finger /soap???? Needa know asap(: thanks !
