Period Pains

I got my period this morning and I was happy and I started to have cramps so I had 1 weetbix with milk and took 2 neurophen and then my pains started getting really intense that I couldn't walk and even lying down hurt. Then I threw up and the pains slowly started to go away. Wtf does that mean? (I've never had this before or pains this intense my whole life)
