Baby girl name?

Is there anyone who has a child or knows someone just named Evie? We have already decided on Evie as our little girl's name due in April but now I'm wondering if Evie should just be short for something like Evette or Genevieve. I would prefer just Evie because I don't like nicknames much but I don't want her to be the only one out there with it as her full name.

Evie is beautiful. I don't think you'll meet many others with it as a given name, but it's not like it's a crazy name. If that's what you intend to call her and it's what you like go for it. There's not much point in giving her a name you never intend to call her, I think.

I know girls hat are just Ellie, Ella, Ava, Eva, Eve...so short names are pretty common. 
You may have people ask if its short for anything. 
It can also be short for Evelyn which I think is lovely 
Everly, Everleigh...

It seems like short names that used to be nicknames are becoming more popular now. Like Cora or Callie. I have a friend names Jessie (not Jessica). I say name her what you like. Evie is super cute. 
As a side note, I have heard it short for Evelyn.

The way I see it is she's your baby and you name her whatever you want. Look at the kids with completely insane names, you think their parents cared whether their child would be the only one with that name? A lot of people have names, actual given names, that are considered nicknames. So go ahead and name her Evie if that's what you want.
