Whats your opinion on self checking the cervix?

My mom taught me the finger measurements and is more than willing to answer questions about it at anytime, based on my finger size compared to my husband's I have him feel it and then tell me (currently 2cm)

I'm curious as to why some people think it's dangerous? If you're in the clear for sex, you're fingers have already been up there or your partner is slamming against it during sex? Of course don't shove/force anything INTO it, but otherwise why not? My OB and midwife think it's fine.

Being a prior l&d nurse, and current a post partum nurse, I'm gonna try (if I can reach it, we will see in a little over 9 weeks lol).

I won't know what the heck I was feeling for I couldn't do it when ttc either. I don't think it's dangerous, but i can't do it lol

I picked dangerous and won't do it because it doesn't really show when you'll have baby and why introduce bacteria in there. I just don't see the point in it

I'm curious as to why you would do it? Labour is going to happen when it happens. I'd leave it up to the professionals.

I don't see the need to do it. I'm on bed rest and pelvic rest so I won't be doing it, but the doctors will do it when they feel it's necessary other than that I don't see a point.

I wouldn't as I don't know what I'm doing or looking for. I'd rather leave it to the professionals, pregnant or not.

If you're talking about doing it while pregnant I wouldn't unless you are trained and know exactly what you are feeling for.
