Hsg test? (I think that's right)

Question

I'm seeing a lot of ladies getting a hsg (if that's wrong let me know) I'm just curious as to what it is and how do you know if you need one? I read something about it cleans out your Fallopian tubes. I don't mean to seem unintelligent, I just figured I would ask! 😅

No the HSG test checks to see if your tubes are blocked. A lot of times women will conceive right after having it done because it does sort of flush everything. I had it done. You have to ask your doctor for it and it has to be done on a certain day of your cycle.

It's an hsg (hystersalpinogram) it's a fluoroscopy study done at a radiology facility. It's a quick procedure  they insert a catheter into you uterus and inject iodine contrast and take a bunch of X-rays. The contrast hi lights where it is going in your Fallopian tubes so they can see if there is any blockages based on wether or not the contrast empties into your ovaries. I had it done and for me it was very painful but only lasted 2 minutes not everyone experiences pain though. It has been known to clear small blockages and debris and a lot of women get pregnant the same month they have it done. Most doctors order it after a year of ttc with no luck.
