Boyfriend's ex is close with his family?

How would you deal if your boyfriend's family still adore his previous, long-term girlfriend and treat her like she has been and is part of the family?

My son was upset with me for continuing a relationship with his "baby mama" after they broke up and he started a new relationship. He was also mad that I didn't try to form a relationship with the new gf. First off HE had a baby with the ex and that child is a part of our FAMILY. She (the baby) lives with us every other week so I should have a good relationship with her mother. It's like we're raising a child together so he just had to get over that. As far as the new gf went, I'm don't have the time to make nice with the new gf because he changes gf nearly as often as he changed underwear. I'd be going nuts just trying to keep up with the flavor of the month.

My boyfriend has two exs that his parents adoreee. His parents even consider them "their daughters" and their babies "their grandkids." It was mainly bc they're his sisters bestfriends & they got really close with his parents. I'm not really sure how to feel about it bc his parents and I aren't very close at all & I know if they had to pick who they wanted him to be with it wouldn't be me haha, but I just don't really let it bother me. I know he doesn't wanna be with either of them & it's the past. Besides they were pretty young when they dated anyways so it probably wasn't even "love".

He needs to step up and say something. As long as she is there , the family will never give you a fair shot in getting close to them. This should bother him as well.

Im lucky most of my fiance's family hates his ex. He has a daughter with her so she is still in the picture. The only person who likes his ex in his family is his oldest cousin and she seems to not like me very much. She has never said more than a hello to me in 5 years probably a total of 3 times. She gives me dirty looks for taking care of my fiance's daughter. His ex isnt any better she plays nice to my face and then says stuff to my fiance about me. I ignore both of them because my focus is on my relationship with my fiance and his daughter. And the rest of his family likes me so im not too worried about them 2.

I dated my ex for years me and his step mom/ fathers family were very close. We still are. Closer than he and his new gf are. When we broke up it didn't affect me and the families relationship. They still consider me family as do I. I'm not there to ruin his relationship or anything like that, we burned our bridges years ago. Honestly, I wouldn't take it personally. When two people date for so long and are a part of the family it is very hard to burn that bond.

Similar situation here, I'm back with ex only his mother is still very friendly with his ex, the difficult part is, I was stopped from going to even the door when we split years ago, I was slagged off in front of my daughter regularly by his mother and ex, I wasn't the one that cheated I wasn't in any way nasty to any of them(ex at the time) but yet his ex now has been so nasty to the point he was going to take her to court but his mother is still close, ex has coursed so many problems with bf(was ex), the mother even brought the ex a gift for her new baby by someone else, god only knows what to do, so yes I feel your pain, one part of me says walk away from it all but other part says it's not his fault but then because he has no back bone he won't say anything to his mother

Well i believe my SO wants to be with his sons mom because ive read texts in his phone and apparently he ruined their relationship and to me he be sounding like a pervert because his son know me his dad do not care about having sex with me in front of his son....I use to let him spend plenty of nights over here I threw my couch away so he can stop bringing him over....he isn't mad at all and haven't said nothing about it. I'm on the flip side, my mom continued speaking to my first serious boyfriend after we broke up. I was young at the time and took it personally, but now I realize that we were together for 4 years and it was hard for her too.

When I first started dating my husband his mum would go still go out for coffee and stuff with his ex girlfriend. I hated it and luckily so did he, he told his mum it made him uncomfortable so she stopped. Thankfully it didn't turn into an issue but I can see how it could.
