Labor before c section?

My dr never told me at what point if I went into labor should I go in to be monitored and have my c section. I'm scheduled tomorrow for my c section at 5:30 am, but last night and all morning I've been having what are now painful contractions. This is my second pregnancy so I know it's early labor. I've just been waiting on my water to break. Does anyone know or have experience of at what point you go in?

If the c section isn't truly medically necessary you may be able to just deliver

The majority of women's bag of waters don't break at home or even on their own. I wouldn't wait for that to happen if things start to intensify.

I'm a scheduled C section and Dr said contractions 5mins apart for 1 hour to come in or if I begin to bleed. 
I've been having contractions 12-18mins apart for 2.5weeks.

My hospital doesn't allow for vbacs because they are a smaller hospital. But I went in to be monitored also for blood work for tomorrow morning and fill out paper work and I am contracting. They are getting more intense as the day has progressed. At this point I might as well wait till 5:30 tomorrow morning unless something happens.

I went by the "3-1-1" rule  contractions that are 3 minutes apart lasting at least 1 minute each for 1 hour.

You should go in as soon as you're in 'established' labour, so guidance here is contractions coming 3 in 10 mins and lasting for a minute. That said, labours can progress really quickly so I'd ring them and tell them anyway.
