My c section is in 18 days can anyone calm my nerves?

I'm super nervous and I'm so afraid I'll pass out while having the surgery.I know you can't feel the pain but I still feel so overwhelmed and when I get overwhelmed I feel light headed.I heard the recovery is bad.can anyone calm my nerves about this?

The worst thing for me was the catheter. But everything went great. I was up and walking the next morning and I immediately took a shower without any help. Just make sure you take your pain meds on time. Everyone has different experiences, but just try to stay positive!

I was feeling the same way. I had my c-section for twins 3 weeks ago today. This was my first pregnancy and first c-section. To be honest, it was easy breezy. The worst part of the entire thing was the IV in my hand. (I still have the bruise!) The spinal was less painful than a bee sting. Worst part of recovery was them pushing on my belly, but If you stay on top of your pain medication it's not bad. Take the stool softners! And if you can-have your husband/significant other stay in the hospital with you every night. It made a world of difference. Talk to your anesthesiologist about your fears. I was afraid of being nauseous and made that very clear to him, and he made sure I was nausea free. Good luck-it's not as bad as you expect it to be. At least it wasn't for me.

I was terrified. I cried while getting prepped. The spinal was a little rough. But I didn't feel Anything at all. Just a little bit of pressure which just felt more like someone just pushing or tugging on the skin. Then you see the baby and all the fear goes away completely. It's truly magical.

The recovery for the first 2 days was uncomfortable. Get up and walk as soon as you can. My anemia and nausea didn't allow me to get up without being dizzy so it slowed my digestion down. The gas pain is the worst and when they push on your belly. But walking really helps. You will be fine. Don't stress.

Worse part for me was the spinal block & catheter. After hearing your baby cry for the first time it's like everything else goes away and you stop thinking about what you're going through. My advice -

Stay on top of your pain meds
Send baby to nursery so you can sleep
your baby WILL cluster feed and it makes you cramp horribly. 
Get up and walk as much as you can, makes everything better. 
Take a shower as quick as you can get up and do it, makes you feel human again.
Also, wait to get your catheter out till the next day, trust me you don't want to get up with big chunks of clots falling out.

I am 2 months PP and I still hurt sometimes, and my incision has had a hole in it. It's healing but I am ready for it to be completely done!

I had an unplanned csection with my first and, while it wasn't what I wanted, it wasn't as bad as I expected. The whole procedure took less than half an hour; they almost had the baby out when I said," did you guys start?" They also gave me something for possible nausea right away bc I have a vomit phobia. They let me carry the baby out of the operating room and I breastfed immediately  in recovery. The worst part for me was gas (caused pains in my shoulder)...don't be afraid to ask for the gas x! And try to get some sleep while you're at the hospital..resting after surgery will help a ton with recovery.

I have had two cesareans so far. I recommend if they give you a choice of what kind of oxygen to get get the nose one instead of the face mask. The stuff they make you drink to settle your stomach makes me vomit and with my first csection I vomited in the mask and it was disgusting. With the nose one I could just lean to the side where they were ready and waiting with the puke holder lol. Be calm. The spinal doesn't really hurt but it takes effect really fast. You only feel a lot of tugging and pressure. Make sure to stay on top of the pain after surgery. Don't let it get out of hand before you ask for more meds.

Recovery isn't fun but you're going to be okay!

I really wanted natural and due to unforeseen circumstances I had c-section. I wasn't really worried bc I had been in labor so long and just wanted it to be over and i would get to meet my baby so soon! I know you are nervous but just try to focus on meeting your baby and hearing them for the first time, it's amazing and it will all be worth it.

One week ago I was rushed to theatre for an emergency c section. Being my first baby I was so scared my teeth were chattering with fear. I had one hour notice and couldn't  talk or comprehend much of what they were saying until I was sitting in the room while doctors and nurses rushed around getting ready. As soon as the doctors were ready and the anethesist was putting the epidural in my back I was numb from belly to toe. Within 5 minutes my baby was out and the only thing I felt was the a funny feeling in my tummy like someone was sorting through a box of Lego. After I heard the sound of his cry everything was ok. I was then stiched up and stapled up and put in the icu to control my preeclampsia and couldn't see my baby for a whole day after. That for me was the hardest thing. As soon as you can get up and start walking around. I know it sounds hard, that you can't do it. Within a day of surgery I was up. I weigh 150 kg and I got up and moved around despite all the thing s wrong. But as soon as you start moving you will feel so much better. Make sure you stay on top of your pain meds.

Now a week fromy surgery I don't feel pain much I haven't taken pain meds for a day now and only need them at night if I had a big day. It is all worth it for your babies trust me. Don't be scared you want to enjoy the moment

I was scheduled for a c section next Friday but little man had other plans so we had it today. I can honestly say it was nothing like I was anticipating. It was so smooth and I can see now that I was panicking over nothing. The pain after is the worst but mine may be different because certain pain meds don't work for me. They gave me morphine twice and it didn't do anything.

don't think about it too much or stress about it, because once you are there everything else goes away and all you care about is having the baby! Us C-section mommies lay our life on the line for the life of our child! trust me you wont think of anything else but that child be born healthy!
