How soon is too soon

Ok I'm currently 3 days late. I took a test the day I was supposed to start my period and it was negative. I'm not stressed about anything and my body usually doesn't like me enough to to just skip periods. There's a possibility that I could be pregnant and I want to know so bad but I don't want to keep wasting tests. How much longer should I wait before testing again?
