So my dad is an identical twin and my BF is a fraternal twin. What are the chances that  I'll have twins with my bf?

Your chances are no different than anyone else's. Your dad was identical, which is completely random chance. And your boyfriend's family genetics has no bearing on your ability to have fraternal twins, because that is a result of hyperovulation, which you inherit from the maternal side of your own family.

Maybe a myth but I've always heard it skips a generation! My boyfriends father is an identical twin! I don't think it really matters whether it runs in the family or not! I like to think every woman has a 50-50% chance of conceiving twins!

I think its passed down through maternal genes.. As in if there is hyperovulation on your mothers side then theres a higher chance or if you are a fraternal twin yourself...

Just to throw everyone off, I am an identical twin, and so is my grandfather, his sister then had feternal twins, which run in the family. I'm part of the twin study which they put it down to how our women are built to carry twins. Agreed with comments above, your man cannot make you have twins but your children can carry the gene, skipping generations is a myth and only feternal twins run in families due to hyper ovulation

Im having fraternal twins and no one in my side of the family nor my partners has ever had twins so i guess it has to start off some where right. .

They can't really detect odds when it's genetic. I read that it's like 1 in 37. And if it's genetic, the chances are greater.

Identical twins aren't linked to genetics they are just by chance fraternal twins run in families but usually has to be on the girls side this is what I have always been told and like someone above said it usually skips a generation

Fraternal twins tend to run in families even though you can have them without them being in your family. Identical twins are the luck of the draw.
