Question about cervix positioning?

This is my second pregnancy at 6weeks and my first ended with a miscarriage end of last summer and have TTC for a year now. I have heard women talk about being able to feel if the cervix is high or low or open or closed? I've never really known about positioning and the significant reasoning for it. If being high is good meaning your pregnancy is going fine, etc. anyone know anything about it?
