Chemical pregnancy
I had 4 hpt come back faintly positive at the beginning of Nov so I asked my doctor for a blood test just to be sure and my hcg results came back as 89, she thought about 4 weeks along. About a week after that I started spotting, very light and dark which is the same type of spotting I had with my son so I didn't think too much of it. A few days later I passed a clot. I immediately called my OB and he said that it was probably accumulation of old blood and that sometimes that happens. He said not to worry unless the bleeding got heavier or I started having a lot of pain. I took a test and it was still positive so I was trying not to worry. That was over 2 weeks ago and since that time, I'd been feeling like something wasn't right. On Thanksgiving (great day to find this out), I took a hpt to reassure myself that I was in fact pregnant and it came back negative! I then took 2 more that night and 1 the next morning that all came back negative. I called my doctor and requested another hcg blood test. I got a call that night that it came back negative so the nurse thinks I had a chemical pregnancy. However, I am still having a lot of cramping. I'm wondering if anyone else who has had a chemical pregnancy has experienced cramping for weeks afterwards? I have an appt with my OB on Wed to have an exam, just wondering if anyone knows if this normal.
