IUDs?

Question

I have seen so many negative things about IUD. I'm pregnant, so I'm not worried about it. However, I have heard probably 10 horror stories in the past few months. Thoughts? Experiences? I'm honestly just curious.

I've had Paraguard for a couple of months now. I was weary of it because of all the negative reviews I read online. However you have to think, if someone's having a good experience they aren't going to race onto the Internet & give it 5 stars on every site where as if it was an extremely horrible experience you'd want to go & warn others. So you can expect more negative than positive reviews. So far it's been great. My acne & moodswings have gone down thanks to the absence of hormones & I don't have to beat myself up over a missed pill because there isn't one I have to take. I'm extremely happy so far but this is just the beginning for me.

I had the paraguard and I loved it! Just got it out and I never had any problems. I would definitely get one again!

I had paragard several months after my son was born. Kept it in 2 1/2 years and got pregnant shortly after getting it out. Only symptom for me was heavy periods, but to me it was worth it to be hormone free.

I'm scared of it also, but it's the only long term Option besides getting my tubes tied. And getting them tied feels way WAY too permanent

I have had a Skyla for 19 months. I have not had any problems. No pregnancy, no periods, no pain after the first week.

I had skyla and had a great experience! It was so easy! It hurt like hell getting put in. The first month I had some extra bad cramping. Then it was perfect! Periods were about the same as when I was on the pill. So much easier to have an IUD then remember to take a pill. I recommended it to my friend and she also has had a great experience with similar extra cramping the first month. When they took it out I didn't even feel it.

I had 2 mirenas. The first one was the best thing ever. My horrible periods stopped. I had it for 4 years and only bled for 6 months (I spotted and cramped the first 6 months). I was pregnant within 6 months of having it removed (probably would have happened sooner but my husband was gone a lot). I had zero issues. With my second one I had low sex drive, moody, tired all the time. Then I ended up with random bleeding, pains in my cervix, and abnormal paps. The strings ended up in my cervix and caused issues. After it was removed I had hot flashes and cold sweats and just felt horrible for 2 weeks. It just depends. As with anything g you can get a defective one or your body might reject it. Or it could be the perfect thing for you. The only way to know is to try it for yourself.

I had merina 8mnths, absolute horror!!i bled and bled, i almost collapsed at the mall because it had pierced the back of my uterus, had to get it removed the same day, i gained weight and had to take painkillers everyday :(
