Anyone ever had a hidden twin?

I've read stories about Drs missing twins until later in pregnancy. Any truth to this?

I had an ultrasound at just under 6 weeks and they missed that it was twins. It was missed again with the heartbeat check at 10 weeks, once she found one she didn't continue to look for anymore.  We found out when I went in for spotting and had an ultrasound at 14 weeks. Had they just had me in for a heart beat check im sure I wouldn't know until my 20 week anatomy scan on the 17th. My last office visit they could only clearly one heartbeat because the second one kept blending with the first. Once they find one, if they think there is only one, they don't look around for more.

I'm wondering the same! At first I was told I was having twins now they don't see anything but the twin can always be hidden. Who knows lol
