CD1 of AF: spotting or bleeding?

Which one..? From the apps spotting is not considered the first day? Is pinkish or brownish discharge counted as spotting or first day of AF?

I guess knowing this accurately will help me out with knowing which is my CD1 and help me to TTC faster. :)
