Second hand items
I'm a first time mom and very excited. I bought all my baby's items before I got to 8 months.
My problem is, I can't help but feel offended when people be like "I have some used stuff to give you", some even advise me on washing them before I use them. Sometimes these are from their 4 year old kids! These items are almost always blankets and onesies.
I'm not stuck up but in my culture it's just not done. If you aren't friends with or related to the person you just don't offer certain items.
I just moved to the U.S. and the very first day of meeting me, my neighbour wanted to give me her 2-3 year old's used clothing and blankets. I accepted because I didn't want to seem rude, I plan on dropping them off at a Salvation Army. I am borderline OCD.
What are your thoughts on this issue?
