Freezing milk - how many ounces in a bag?

How many ounces do you freeze in each bag?  I started off freezing 4 oz. to a bag but wondering if I should bump it up as my LO sometimes will eat 5-6 oz. of fresh pumped milk at a time when I give him a bottle.  Also how do you know how much milk to send to the babysitter since I feed on demand right now while on maternity leave.  My guy is 8 weeks old.

I did a test trial before I went back to work so I would know how much milk my son drank. I pumped every 3-4 hours to keep up my supply and gave him a bottle of pumped milk. Kept track of how much he ate then just thawed or left in the fridge that amount.

Now my son is 6 months old and I work 13 hour shifts in the er over night. I know 15 oz will cover my shift so I thaw and make 3 bottles then what I pump just before work I leave in the fridge in my pumping bottles as a "just in case" more is needed. The frozen should be used first and if they don't end up needing the extra "fresh" milk then I just bag it and freeze it for later.

Oh and I freeze all my milk at 5 oz bags.

I've liked having a variety of sizes. I have some 2-3 oz bags that can be used to top off or combined with another bag plus I have 4 oz bags for a full feeding.

I fill the bag up with 12 ounces! No use in wasting bags. The milk is good for one day after thawing. So I thaw it out before my shift and usually have a fresh bottle or two. The sitter uses the thawed milk first and then uses the fresh.

Yeah I began freezing in 2-3oz portions... Now I freeze in 5oz since she's older.
