Boyfriends mom doesn't like me?

My boyfriend and I have been together 2.5 years and ever since I first met his mom I've just had a weird feeling about her. They are pretty classy people and I'm normal, university student, good looking, fun, nice. I made a mistake once while I was over there of drinking too much and puking in their toilet so that wasn't the best thing I ever did but otherwise I've been very social and nice. I just get this weird vibe from her I don't know what it is. Like she's judging me the whole time I'm talking to her. Just wish I didn't feel scared going over to his house. We are so in love and will likely be married one day so I'm freaking out about this a bit. How can I get his mom to like me more?? Do parents always just think their child can do better? I think she thinks maybe I'm using him? (Which Is just ridiculous). I'm just confused!

The best advice I can give is to just be yourself! Say what comes to mind and try not to think too hard about how to say something or how you should say it! I had this feeling as well but I knew it was all in my head! I'd get extremely nervous to the point that if she asked me something my reply wouldn't even relate to the question! Because I would literally get so scared and shaky around her that I couldn't talk or think! I tried so hard to get her to like me that I forgot to/how to be myself! So one day I took a deep breath and said ok I can do this! I said what came to mind and made small talk and before I knew it we were shopping,eatting,talking on the phone, and making a relationship together! She's now one of my most beloved people! Just relax and breathe and be yourself, no matter what! Good luck dear!

I've been with my husband 7 years and I get that feeling from my MIL. she always acts like I'm not good enough like she couldn't care less about what I have to say and just had this arrogance about her that intensified by 1000 when talking to me lol. I've learned not to care and just don't really go out of my way to talk to her. I tell myself that if someone wants to talk to me they will and if not there's nothing I can do. My husband sees it for himself and knows how it makes me feel, he loves me just the same. He married me. She didn't come to our wedding... She said it was due to work but then she took days off just to nap when I was staying with them... Sometimes you just can't change how people are going to act towards you. Its a hard pull to swallow but I didn't marry her or choose her as a friend. I chose my husband and I'm happy with him whether she likes me or not.

I've been dating my boyfriend for 2.5 years also and we just moved in together in August. His mother absolutely hates me and being conservative, told us tat moving in together basically flaunts we're sleeping with eachother. Blah blah. She has completely turned his younger sister's against us and they beg him to break up with me. I'm a good kid and I've always been there for those girls. One thing I've learned is that you may never be liked by her and THAT'S OKAY. We do not let them effect our relationship with all the stupid petty stuff. I know you guys aren't married but for lack of better phrase, "mother in law" may never like you and that's a shame because she'll probably miss out on a great person. But you're making her son happy and that's all that matters! Unfortunately, my boyfriend's mother cannot see this.

First of, you're beautiful! And you look like a good person. Maybe talk to her? Clear the air, ask her if you ever did something that she felt disrespected by. Moms can be overprotective with their sons, I know when I met my boyfriends mom she didn't like me but I guess I understood her since I was the first girl he ever took to their house and he was the oldest of two boys so they weren't used to seeing another girl there. He has one older sister, one younger sister, a niece and if course his mom so it was pretty intimidating lol. But it only took awhile for them to get used to seeing me there and getting comfortable with me. Goodluck!

my boyfriends mom doesn't like me either. for no reason at all. and my boyfriend knows this too and says she's just being ridiculous and cruel. lol, i wouldn't worry about it too much.
