Is Plan B worth it?

Question

My fiancé and I are doing our best to avoid pregnancy at this point in our life. Mostly because we don't have the money for it. Anyway, the only BC thing that we use is condoms because I can't take the pill because it messes with my emotions too much and I become suicidal. So I was just wondering if Plan B would be worth it since I'm prone to side effects? I often get the uncommon side effects no matter what medication I take.

I don't normally have side effects when taking medication but OMG one time my boyfriend and I had an oops where the condom broke and he didn't realized until after he finished.. Needless to say we freaked out so we thought the best option was to try a plan b pill and holy crap did that mess up my period for no joke prob a year.. I'd skip months then I'd have it for abnormally long times then it's go back to normal and then get all screwy again. We both agreed that next time if someone happens we'll just take our chances and never take one of those pills again (mind you this is the man I want to marry and have kids with and were much older now so we wouldn't be freaking out if I were to become pregnant) but anyways just my expierence with that. Never depend on plan b alone, you want to avoid taking it frequently.

But if you're choosing between it and a possible pregnancy absolutely do plan b.

So here is my experience with "Plan B" I have unprotected sex in October I took a plan b and came on for three days then a week later I came on my cycle again twice in one month. So November comes along NOTHING,no cycle I took TWO pregnancy test and both was negative so I'm like "ok where is my little friend" and finally December comes along and what have you know my little friend is back but it's back with a vengeance.

Plan b is basically the same hormones as those in birth control just in a higher dose. I don't recommend depending on plan b alone, it's an emergency contraceptive and should be used as such.

Well if you don't want to risk pregnancy then most likely. And the sooner you take the better. But it's a high does of hormones. And it can mess with you. It's your choice. Also from my understanding you can't get pregnant after you ovulate. There about a 24 window, and that's 30% give or take. And your more likely to get pregnant before ovulating. Keep in mind sperm can live 3-5 days. (I don't know how accurate this information is is she I've read and been told)

I've taken the Plan B pill before due to the condom slipping off but like almost everyone already said , it is ONLY for emergencies. It's even stated on their website and box that the pill should not be used as a way of contraceptives. & the pill IS a higher dose of a normal birth control pill because it IS a higher dosage than those in normal birth control pills. After taking it , your menstrual cycle will be everywherrreee. It can take up to a couple of months for it to get back on track. Of course every female is different and not everyone gets the same side effects but it gives you the same symptoms as if you were pregnant, so if you want to deal with that for a month or so. But if you can't afford birth control , you can always try planned parenthood (whether you're against it or not) they offer free samples for up to 6-8 months like they did with me and then you can go back after that and pay a small fee to get more

The Plan B pill is for emergencies, and also way more expensive than using birth control because you only get one pill with each purchase. Condoms should be fine if you're using them right.
