Cervical Balloon?? Help please

I am 39 weeks my doctor said something about inducing with a cervical balloon?? I have no clue what it is. He said we would talk more Monday. Can anybody tell me what it is and if it is done in office or the hospital?!

I had a cervical balloon with my son. I had only dilated 2 cm and I needed to be 6 cm. It didn't take a lot of time for me. It maybe took an hour. I could feel my contraction with the balloon because my epidural pump came  unattached at my shoulder. After a little while I felt the balloon move and my son behind it. My Dr used 50 cc of fluid to inflate mine. I hope the best for you.

I was induced with the cervical balloon and a little pill(can't remember the name) and it was honestly the MOST painful part of the entire delivery. But I suppose it did what was needed got me to 3 cm. Dr say it's going to be uncomfortable while they are putting it in, oh it was:(

I had to be induced and had the  foley bulb. When I got to the hospital I was having contractions but only dilated to a one so they used it. One nurse said it was going to hurt really bad so I was surprised when it wasn't that bad. There is definitely some moments of uncomfortableness inserting it but overall nothing compared to full on contractions. Mine fell out at a four and it just felt like some pressure coming out. Basically means that they stick a plastic ball attached to a tube up into your vagina and wait for that balloon to expand within hours. It is supposed to make you cervix dilate. It didn't work for me.
