Is it possible to have a positive ovulation test but not be ovulating?

Answer

Yes. The opk shows a hormone surge,  but the egg might not be released. It happened to me last month. Positive opk, but no ovulation or temp spike.

Yes, especially if you have PCOS, POF, or cysts. Or your having anovulatory cycles where you don't ovulate. I try to tell everyone to go by temps, CM, and cervix. Only use OPKs to crosscheck other signs

Yes I got a positive opk twice in 1 month. 2 right after my period when my body geared up to release an egg but didn't because it wasn't ready and then another when I actually ovulated

Yes. Ovulation tests only tell you there was a surge in the  hormone that triggers ovulation. It does not tell you that you actually ovulated. Only temping ir bloodwork can confirm that yes you did ovulate
