Depending where you live there are services that pick up the dirty cloth diapers or compostable diapers to wash them for you while leaving a new supply for the next week. The cost for the service doesn't seem much more then buying disposable diapers so it seems worth it to me.

We're using a combo of both. Cloth when at home, disposable for newborn and when we're out. They make cloth diapers pretty convinient these days and easier to clean with liners (: They are hard to come by though, and you usually have to order them online. I'm 31 weeks right now and haven't started getting cloth just because I can't find them anywhere, so I'm going to have to order a bunch online.

If you exclusively breastfeed the poop is water soluble, no rinsing necessary, you just throw them into the washer! When they're eating solids, you dump the solid poop into the toilet and there's even a sprayer you can attach to your toilet to spray the more loose stools. Consider what good you'd be doing for the environment and your babies skin. Plus you'll save well over 1-3k
