Professional newborn photos?

Are they worth the hefty price tag? In my area, they are about $450 for a professional photographer to come to your house for a 2 hour session! I don't want to go to a studio like JC Penny (way too many germs for my taste). I feel like I could take a lot of adorable pics myself, but not sure if I will regret not getting them done professionally... Thoughts?

I wanted these done so so bad but just couldn't bring myself to pay that price and honestly- you got a good price. By me they are easily 600 plus more for prints. Could get up to 12-1500. I also don't want to go to jcpenny or anything like that. I decided that we will ask for this as a gift for our sons 6 month or 1 year bday.

Try and see if you find a deal in groupon for a photographer that will travel to your home.

I did with my first and they broke my credit card bank!! But um, I'm doing them again with this little one:) my husband and I said one day when walking past our firsts photos in the hall, 'we are sooo doing those for Lana!' We don't care about our credit being maxed out again, it's just money we laid back anyways. They came out so awesome and we have the negatives too:)

We got lucky. We found a new photographer who is actually good and we got a years package for $250. It includes maternity, newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 month pictures! 😊 maybe try to find a new photographer just starting out!

I love mine that I had taken when my youngest was born. They were a Christmas gift though. We can't afford the full blown newborn shoot this time but went with a first 48 shoot instead. Ask around not all photographers are that expensive. May try looking for someone who is trying to get more experience with newborns? That what we did with our 2nd

What we r doing instead is a family package. We will still get pics of her but also of the whole family and individuals! That is only $85 but the newborn sessions are like $300!! Big difference. Something to consider - our photographer said she will not do all the props like in newborn but i can figure something out!!

I'll be taking mine to a studio and picking out a package. I didn't get any with my first but wish I did. But there's no way I'm paying that much and honestly can't afford it. It is Christmas, and I have another child to take care of also. So we will go to portrait innovations and spend like $60-70. That's how much the package we usually get is I think.

I could add them to my registry and people could put money towards them with the photographer I chose. I am due around Christmas and people were asking what they can get the baby and I gave them the photographers website and my registry
