Is this true?

I've been told that the pregnancy tests at the ER suck and aren't very sensitive so it's easy to get a false negative... Is this true?

I guess it depends on the hospital but usually the ER does a blood test (this has been my experience) and those are better than any urine test.

I've heard some ERs will do a urine test if you are saying you think you are pregnant but if it's negative and you want a blood test they will tell you to go to a doctor in an office. Because it's not an emergency and it's a waste of resources to do routine, non emergent tests at an emergency room. And if you are pregnant, you will need to go see a doctor routinely anyway. But I can see how some people would just want to know if they were actually asap.
